Everybody's Working for the Weekend...

This last weekend was so much fun!!!

Friday: Dustin took me on a date (been soooo long)...it was so funny, he said he was going out to the car to clean it out...but within a couple minutes he was back at the door, ringing the doorbell to pick me up for our date! It was so cute. He came inside to wait for me to finish getting ready and then he led me outside to open my door and help me in. :) We ended up going to Lucky Wishbone (I've been craving their fries ALL week!!)...YUMMY! And then we were planning on going to a late night movie, but due to Dustin's new work schedule we are both up at 5:30am most mornings getting ready and with being prego - I just can't stay up that late anymore. So instead we opted for some rental movies and a living room campout (we've done this since we married, so much fun!). It was nice to have a "date" with my hubby, it's been so long...we have a "double date" planned for this Friday. Should be fun!

Dinner + Movie + Living Room Campout = G8 D8 4 ME & D

Saturday: the rain clouds FINALLY drifted away and we were left with pretty blue skies and SUN!!! So Dustin and I packed up some yummy food and Moshi and headed down the Seward Highway to Hope for the day.

We planned on walking around the small, quiet town checking out my grandma's old place (I love Hope, makes me think of my grandma, the lilac bush by the church, camping with the family, etc...) and having a little fire pit-picnic and playing in the water. BUT instead we get there and the town is FULL of people!! It was insane! I have never seen that place so busy...the streets are tiny, so driving around with everybody was CRAZY and almost impossible. We drove down by the cafe/waterfront and overheard some peeps saying they were having a motorcycle rally (in Hope!?)....so we made a U-turn and headed back out of town (*Just as a side note and reminder to myself...they got rid of the old "haunted" house, across the street from my grandma's old house - that my bros and I used to run past and throw rocks at. The car is still there, but not the house...now some huge McMansion sits further back on the property...so sad!). Instead of calling it a day and just pulling off on some rest area along the highway to eat - Dustin pulled out of 'downtown' Hope and then did a right at Resurrection Road.

Just some pics of my cute puppy! Luvs her!!

We drove ALL the way down the road and FINALLY came to this cute little camping area along a river. We found an open spot, parked and settled in. You should have seen all the fish in the river by our site - granted they were nasty humpy salmon - but they were ALL over in the river. You could have seriously grabbed at them! It would have been fun just to catch and release...but no pole - maybe next time!

All the Humpy's EVERYWHERE!

Soon Dustin had a fire going and we were cooking our food over the fire...We sat around talking, taking pictures and just enjoying the warmth from the shining sun and watching Moshi have a grand ol'time in the dirt.
My strong man - he make fire!

Above: Waiting for the coals to burn down...isn't it pretty there?
Below: Famous foot picture, AK woods style! (Dustin's foot is there too!
It's there on the ground...LOOK!)

At home, Moshi always takes her chewies and hides them...it's so cute because she pretends to cover it with dirt - she even does the motions...but out here -- she got to do it for real and she was soooo excited. I think she dug up a hole, placed the bone and buried it (and then undo it) in like five different locations that day! It was too funny. Towards the end of the day she even had dug this ginormous hole that could have swallowed her whole!

Moshi with her "I'm gonna dig to China" face!

Digging...Digging...Digging...

Almost there...(her little bum is so cute, she is so determined!!)

Nice & dirty for the ride home! YEA!

Moshi was having a great time. She even loved the water and checking out all that was in it. She is definitely an Alaskan dog. She loves the outdoors, any season (except the rain, I've learned) and all that comes with it!

Moshi we are so happy you are part of our family!

We had such a great day together, hopefully we can squeeze more in before the summer comes to an end. Sadly my camera died and I was unable to take pictures of Dustin in front of all the WELCOME TO signs (he's starting a new scrapbook of him in front of all signs he encounters). So maybe we'll be able to go back down the road and get them soon.

Till next weekend...Dustin's Elder's Quorum Marshmallow Roast!
